The SmartShunt is an all-in-one battery monitor much like the BMV-712, but without a dedicated display; your compatible phone or tablet acts as the display.
The SmartShunt connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect App on your phone (or tablet) and you can conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters like state of charge, time-to-go, historical information, and much more.
Alternatively, the SmartShunt can be connected to and read by a GX device such as the CCGX, Venus GX, or the Cerbo GX using an optional VE.Direct cable.
The SmartShunt is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted.
The SmartShunt is equipped with Bluetooth, a VE.Direct port, and a connection that can be used for: monitoring a second battery, midpoint monitoring or an optional temperature sensor (compatible with the BMV-702/-712 temperature sensor).
The SmartShunt is currently available in 500A; 1000A and 2000A versions are available but are special-order only and are very rarely required; if in doubt, please reach out to us to discuss your options!
Notes: The SmartShunt is not weather-resistant and must be installed in a protected environment. The SmartShunt does not have programmable relays or alarms.
